Straffi & Straffi Attorneys at Law is proudly run by the father-and-son team of Daniel Straffi, Sr. and Daniel Straffi, Jr. who has over 40 years of combined experience. They’ve been representing clients throughout Southern and Central New Jersey for more than 8 years

Daniel Straffi, Jr.

Mr. Straffi, Jr., was admitted to practice in the States of NJ and Pennsylvania, as well as the District Court of New Jersey, in 2001. A graduate of Boston College in 1998 and Rutgers-Camden School of Law in 2001, he began his legal career in 2001 serving as a judicial law clerk for the Presiding Judge of Family Law in Mercer County, the Hon. Lee Forrester, P.J.F.P. After completing his clerkship, Mr. Straffi was an associate at the law firm Cooper Levenson for two years where he concentrated his practice on the area of negligence defense. In 2004, he joined his father’s law practice. He has focused his practice on representing individuals and businesses in the areas of bankruptcy, divorce and criminal defense. He is further an active member of the NJ and Ocean County Bar Associations (Co-Chair of Bankruptcy Panel), and is a certified mediator and early settlement panelist in Ocean County.

Daniel Straffi, Sr.

Mr. Straffi, Sr., was admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and the District Court of New Jersey in 1976. He was admitted as an attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in 1982. Mr. Straffi has been one of the Panel of Trustees for the District of New Jersey since 1991, as well as a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He has further been appointed to serve as a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Trustee. Mr. Straffi graduated from Rutgers College in 1973 and Seton Hall Law School, cum laude, in 1976. He is an active member of both the Federal and State of NJ bar associations and has served as a panelist for a continuing education bankruptcy course. Mr. Straffi’s primary emphasis of practice has been acting as attorney and Trustee for Chapters 7 and 11 bankruptcies in the Trenton vicinage.

Jennifer Mitchell, Team Leader and Office Manager

With nearly 30 years of experience, our team leader and office manager, Jennifer Mitchell, has been with Straffi & Straffi Attorneys at Law for 23 years. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and efficient in assisting clients, specializing in bankruptcy and loan modifications. Together with office staff and under the guidance of Daniel E. Straffi, Jr., she enjoys helping clients to gain a fresh start. Jennifer is a happily married mother of four children and a lifelong resident of Ocean County. Spending time with her family, traveling, boating, fishing and camping are some of Jennifer’s favorite things to do in her off time.

Jamie Roman, Legal Assistant to Daniel E. Straffi, Chapter 7 Trustee

Jamie has been with the law firm since 2013. She is the legal assistant to Daniel Straffi, Chapter 7 Trustee, and works closely with him, concentrating on all Trustee litigation matters.

Kristin Gerena, Legal Assistant to Daniel E. Straffi, Chapter 7 Trustee and Daniel E. Straffi, Jr., Esq.

Kristin, recent wife and mother, is the newest legal assistant for the Straffi & Straffi Attorneys at Law, law firm. She has been employed by the firm since 2017, transitioning from her career as a sales manager. Her growth and professionalism during her employment thus far have proven her to be a valued asset to our team.
